Dr. Diane Romaine, Dental Chair of the Western Maryland Mission of Mercy and President of the Maryland State Dental Association Foundation, talks about starting the first Mission of Mercy for adults in 2010. Since then, 18 have been held across the state with a total donation of care reaching over 17 million dollars!!

The Western Maryland Mission of Mercy is a two day free dental clinic that provides free services to people who could not otherwise afford dental care. These clinics are made possible through a community partnership of Allegany-Garrett Dental Society, Allegany Health Right, County United Way, Western MD AHEC, County Health Departments, and Western Maryland Health Systems, as well as hundreds of volunteers.

Dr. Romaine advocates to restore adult dental benefits through Medicaid
The Maryland General Assembly unanimously passed the bill, SB 284, in April of 2018 that requires the Maryland Department of Health to implement a pilot program for adult dental coverage.
